Minister held talks with the UN Women delegation.

(29 May 2023) H.E Ergogie Tesfsye(Phd.), Minister of Ministry of women and social affairs held talks with Ms. Cecile Mukarubuga, UN Women Ethiopia Country Representative and Ms. Zebib Kavuma, Deputy Regional Director, UN Women Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa.

The meeting was a courtesy visit by Ms. Cecile who is newly appointed as country representative.

H.E Dr.Ergogie wellcomed the delegates and briefed about the over all duties and responsibility of Ministry and the committement of Ethiopian government for the empowerment of women in political,social and economic aspects and Ms.Cecile in her part appreciated the activities that have been done so far.

They also discussed on a range of issue on gender equality and women’s empowerment particularly on enhancing women’s role in peace building, the national dialogue and transitional justice processes
