Humanitarian support and mobilization to commemorate the 16 Days of activism against Gender Based Violence has been launched in the motto of “I care for my sister”

The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs in collaboration with various associations and partner organizations has been launched Humanitarian support and mobilization to commemorate the 16 Days of activism against Gender Based Violence in the motto of “I care for my sister”. During the launching program women forum members from the Federal and Addis Ababa city administration as well as various community groups from the city were participated.
In the event, H.E W/ro Alemitu Umut State Minister of the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs stated that the Ministry has been working rigorously to collect various support such as food, milk, flour, oil, sanitary pad, cloths, blankets, sheets and mattresses to internally displaced community groups.
Likewise, in the program Ms. Letty Chiwara UN Women Representative to Ethiopia, African Union and Economic Commission for Africa stated in her part that the 16 Days of activism and mobilization against Gender Based Violence in the motto of “I care for my sister” contributes massively to address the problem of highly vulnerable women.
The support program will be held from December 7 to 17 2021 and includes blood donation various sanitary pad, cloths and food items from different community groups and institutions.
