UNFPA promised to strengthen its collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs.

Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD), the Minister for the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, recently held a discussion with representatives from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Ethiopia.

H.E. ErgogieTesfaye (phd) conveyed her sincere appreciation for the invaluable partnership with UNFPA, underscoring the remarkable progress achieved by the 3R Project in Tigay, implemented by UNFPA on behalf of the Ministry. She emphasized the vital role of collaborative endeavors in tackling the pressing challenges confronting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). In preparation for the conclusion of the current 3R contract in September, Her Excellency emphasized the critical need for a smooth transition.

She underscored the importance of enhancing capacity within the regional bureau to ensure an efficient and effective transition process. Mr. Koffi Koume, the UNFPA Resident Representative to Ethiopia, highlighted that the progress made by UNFPA since working with the ministry. The discussion between ministry of women and social affairs and the UNFPA representatives signifies the importance of collaboration and joint efforts in addressing humanitarian activities and supporting individuals in need in Ethiopia
